There ARE dunes there normally. ;) But like I said...any decent storm washes out the road an dunes down that way. Joys of being a sandbar/barrier island. Things change constantly, and we don't get official Island status. :(

Hence the bridges over the areas that get wiped out the most.

I'll have to see if I can get a pic of the new one. Second one won't be done til next year I think they said.

My section of the Atlantic isn't called the graveyard for giggles. It's rough, and has no mercy. Ships or roads...the ocean goes where she wants. First rule of living on a sandbar. Second is..sand gets everywhere.

    Ocracoke after Dorian last year...

So I found a design online for a work table that will handle 1500#. It is 2 feet wide by 3 feet long (30 inches tall if it matters). The person was working on a engine (listeroid) and they made it out of 1.5" angle iron with 1/8" thickness. Near as I figured it was 30' of angle iron. I figured in a praticular way that I would need 6 pieces at 21", 4 pieces @ 30", and 5 pieces at 33". Welll I messed up on a 33 and cut a 32. Oh and I cut all the short pieces first. Well that altered the metall I needed. Thankfully I bought 2 sticks (a stick is 20 feet over all long) cut in half. When I was done cutting all the pieces I found I had one piece extra at 21.25". I thought sweet! I can use that as a spreader in the shelf. I laid it up to the 6 pieces and oh crumb. I cut the 6 pieces at 23". So I went to recut them to the 21" and the bandsaw blade gave out. Ok well I guess that means the workday is over. Grin tomorrow I will get another blade in town.

These two from Danny Gatton's debut album are the second and third songs from the album, and they are everything right now.

    The dogs are jamming.

I say go for it, but don't go too crazy. Some men will show up from Exxon and the Pentagon, and a week later you'll have a heart attack.
