I did 850 sq ft. in my last house, while living in it. Took Me 3 weeks. Nail gun rental was more than a new one Costs. After I finished, a Mexican Carpenter, building a house next door, says , Me and my helper would have Dont it in 2 days for $300!!!! I swore I’d never do it again. This time I’m planning on 5” or 6” instead of 2.25”. I might just do the engineered click lock. It’s so easy, no finishing, easy to repair/ replace a section.

That is one of the reasons I opted for an Aluminum floor. Takes a lot to rot one out......

Ceramic needs 3/4” subfloor, and preferably a 1/4” or 1/2” cement board. But with flexible grout, and the new fortified mortars supposedly act as a membrane, and can even be set on cement with cracks in it. Without transferring through to the tile. I wouldn’t hesitate to lay it down over vinyl linoleum on a cement floor. That stuff sticks to the tile, makes it like a one piece floating ceramic floor. The bad tile jobs I’ve seen over wood only, usually had an unstable sub floor, and used cheap mortar/ grout.

I’ve got one more piece ready for the screws. Gonna put that down and probably leave the rest for tomorrow. I’ll still have about 20 new holes to drill and screw down. Then fix doors, change 4 brake chambers. And Trailers done. Back to work on the Truck. Still got a list for it. Be glad when It’s all done.
