I can remember Eureka when it was a single intersection with a flashing light. Google search shows the light is gone

They finally by-passed Willits but Eureka and Crescent City still have stop lights on 101.
Eureka is a nightmare for traffic.

I remember Cloverdale in the late 70's or early 80's before they bypassed the downtown. Every town from here to Eureka has a main street named "Old Redwood Highway" from the days before they were bypassed. Kind of like Rt 66 along the I-40.

House we built un the 70’s was on the other side if the river from Cloverdale. Was next to the unofficial, unelected mayor of Asti. Pat Paulson.

Yeah, I think you can still see the old sign for Paulson winery as you come into Cloverdale from the south. At least you could a few years ago. He was quite the character. Now the entire area has been taken over by much larger celebrity wineries like Francis Ford Coppola.

    Thankfully no snow here yet.

I fiddled with the tractor a bit before my hands got too cold. Ok one of the OM's was most persistent in wanting to come inside. Good enough reason to stop tinkering. The engine is no longer 4 inches off of center. It is down to half an inch. Now I have to clean up the crud that is in front of the tractor to get the floor crane to reach over the radiator. The engine that is sitting on a inverted skateboard type conveyer (used to roll a tractor engine forward or back). Alas I didnt put enough cribbing in place and the engine is a bit too low for reattachment.

When your used to temps around 60 and you get two days that struggle to reach 40. My fingers are not happy when picking up cold tools. Hopefully it will be warmer tomorrow. Then the problem is getting motivated.

Anybody wanna take bets on if we get up this hill with no tire chains, and empty ? We have the snow socks on , not supposed to use them offroad, but they are working good so far. The hill looks alot smaller in picture
