I have 2 first year drivers. This will be the first winter in a big truck out here. I know I am making them crazy, because over the last 2 weeks, I am constantly reminding them to prepare for winter. Clothes, food, water and to slow down, keep more distance, etc.JolliRoger, LoSt_AgAiN, stuckinthemud and 7 others Thank this.

I got a rookie that calls me every once in a while with questions... I called him today...
Me: Where ya at?
Rookie: Iowa
Me: coming or going?
Rookie: headed to SLC
Me: NE and WY are starting to get messy
Rookie: what you mean?
Me: snow, ice, and idiots
Rookie: ####, I dont even know how to drive one of these in the snow.
Then I proceed to give him some tips and pointers... I think he is goimg to go crazy the first time he gets stuck somewhere for 2 or 3 days for a storm... Hes always in a hurry to get wherever hes headed, which isnt all bad. But I'm worried his in a hurry attitude is going to teach him a hard lesson, the hard way. Ive tried to tell him that sometimes you just got to slow down, or even stop... But I'm not sure how much of it has sunk in, it doesnt help that he 24 and a bit of a hot head. I guess this winter will determine if he can hack it in this line of work or not.Speed_Drums, LoSt_AgAiN, stuckinthemud and 9 others Thank this. -
Bottle jack worked on 1, other ones a little tougher. 20 yr old ubolts are really corroded in there. Makes me want to replace all of them. I have a bottom broken shock bracket. Just trying to change it out.

Hell man , me being from arizona. I never drove in the snow until i started driving a truck. Still dont have much experience in it , but always learning and pushing myself to get out there to sharpen my skills... but trucking has taught me patience more than anything. And in winter time its all about preperation for the worst and patience for when it happens is what ive taken away from my 4 or 5 winters out here... if i could do it i would think anybody can.LoSt_AgAiN, InTooDeep, Dale thompson and 6 others Thank this.
