A few years ago I called the "TA West OKC" home. I got familiar with all the regulars. I noticed a mega carrier parked bobtail next to the store, then noticed the next day that someone had ripped the #### out of the hood (parked at the end of the row).
I called the mega carrier and let them know the situation, with their truck number. About half an hour later a woman was in the driver's seat, crying as she was on the phone. I felt for her. My guess is she elected to take home time with her tractor parked in the TA. Nobody left a mote. Let's just hope she wasn't a lease operator about to get the bad news the company wouldn't cover the damage.
What if it Snows?

When I worked on the inside of a 150 truck fleet, I started going through the equipment inventory list. I found 2 curtain van trailers that were essentially "lost" in the system.
They were sitting at different locations. One where a driver had abandoned it, the other that had been dropped off for repairs over a year previously. That place told me they had called more than once for someone to come and get it, no one ever did.
When I reported the news to the owner, his response was, "there's probably more than those out there somewhere." LOLLepton1, lovesthedrive and tucker Thank this. -
No clue how it works. But every trailer is satellite traceable.
My trucks have a satellite tracer installed, not powered by the truck, and I don't even know the location of it's installation.lovesthedrive and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

Lol... Yeah its only been closes for what... 3 months or so???... Theres lots of easy ways around on US and State highways... No way I'm going clear to Des Moines... My usual detour for that only adds 30 miles and maybe 45 minutes... Last month I was detouring around that closure twice a week... The last 2 weeks though my loads have been taking me straight across I-80tramm01, Lepton1, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.

probably they use truck power to recharge the batteries?
On a different note. On the way home from our grocery shopping we had snow falling. Yup it is a weird year for weather. The pic is from the son in law whom was camping with his kids. Our snow was their hail.
