I dont think it is fair to the driver that a company could put such a policy in place where ur not allowed to throw chains on to keep trucking, only to get u to a truckstop. That is bs and a rule that i would not think twice about breaking.

I know personally couldn't have made to the point I am now without being willing to chain all the time. The direct customer I have I got because the last guy was always late because of waiting for roads to clear. Me toss some chains and away we go.Blue jeans, Rideandrepair, tommymonza and 9 others Thank this.

What will u do tho when ur faced with a mountain range that needs chains to get up and over ? Lookout pass and 4th of july pass in montana/idaho comes to mind. It could be a clear sunny day ur entire trip but snowing 3 inches an hour up there. U just gonna sit in the rest area until spring time ?Blue jeans, Rideandrepair, Cattleman84 and 7 others Thank this.

Already answered. Repower with the chain gang.
I get both sides. If you're a mega. You can have special teams for it. But as a solo or small outfit. You don't have that luxury.Blue jeans, Rideandrepair, stuckinthemud and 5 others Thank this. -

How are u gonna repower a load when u get to a mountain with chain restrictions? That might not be put up until ur passed all the truckstops and parking places? While everybody else is chaining up ur gonna block the chain up area for dozens of hours if not days waiting for a repower? There is some rules meant to be broken and that is one of them in my humble opinion. If i was you i would throw some super socks in ur truck and keep it ur little secret.Blue jeans, tommymonza, Rideandrepair and 6 others Thank this.
