I haven’t done a thread about driving for Dave. He wouldn’t give a #### if I did. He knows how he does things.

But I’ll say it to you guys here who only know him from here.

I’ve been driving for him for 15 months. I honestly think you’re a complete idiot if you don’t talk to him.

I go weeks without talking to him on the phone. When we do talk it’s about something urgent, and normally degrades into some funny #### only drivers would find funny. We mostly communicate through text and email.

I get one message a month from LS and it’s about the Thursday safety call.

The money is good, I love my truck and I’m making great headway on paying it off.

The difference between a DM and a guy who runs hard and dispatches you is the world.

    I hear things like:
“This is available, can you make it?”
“You’re close to your house wanna go home?”
“Just do a 34 you’ve been running hard”
“Find yourself a load from A to B to get the other load I’ve got for you”

    When I do something stupid:
“If that’s how you want to spend your money that’s fine”
“If “X” happens you’ve got to contact me”
    “Don’t #### this up”

All of which is how a mentor/boss should talk to me.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you.

    I’ve got to roll.

Here’s a pic of my wife flipping me off and our Christmas tree.

It was I that started the sad stuff in this thread. I am not sure if I ever brought this up in these forums. And this might be better in the 4 places to avoid thread, but because I need to set something up here goes. During my career, the bane of my existence was the I-71 I70 through the middle of downtown Columbus Ohio. It did not matter the time of day or the seasons. If I went through there I got stopped because of an accident. I am not talking about a few trips either. I am talking about OVER 25 years' worth of them. Because of logistical issues, I could not take I-270 most of the time. And you got it! Even on I-270, I got into a mess. I just came to understand in regard to getting through Franklin County Ohio I was jinxed. What I am about to say is not funny, but I can't help but laugh a bit because it looks like Christmas is also jinxed. I got awoke about an hour ago by my sister, her daughter, and her husband were in a bad car wreck last night. They are OK, but the car was totaled. sheesh, what a way to start the holidays!

Glad that everyone is ok. Crumpled metal is just an inconvenience.

    My condolences.

God Speed Kruiser to a world where cars and trucks are small and chewable.

    I’m suffering from trigger withdrawal.

I went to the range last week to break some clays only to find the shotgun side closed for maintenance for another 2 months. :biggrin_25510:

Well the wife bought me another two shop lights for tthe eventual hobbyist machine shop. I figured since I was out there I should reinstall the fuel tank. Well I would. Yet the teflon tape is missing from where it should be. It isnt in the tool cart either. No it wasnt stretched out on the floor from the cat Goober. Maybe later with some tape I have in the house here.
