Santa apparently made it to my house... The kids made out like bandits. While the wife and I only got stockings full of exhaustion... And some chocolate.

 

I'm almost ashamed to admit what I got!!!!!

That is one of the things I miss about holidays at my moms parents house, The home made fruit cakes.

Gramma made good home made fudge, Pumpkin pie, mincemeat pie, and fruitcakes.

The "pumpkin" was usually made from garden grown cross pollinated pumpkin and banana squash. Just a nice little variation she did to what everybody else had.

That stuff was real good and abundant.

Mmmmmm mincemeat pie brings back memories of my mother in law she always made it for the holidays for me. I like all flavors of pie but mincemeat is first on my list. Hope everyone gets to enjoy something that brings memories of loved ones.

 

That is what I miss most on Christmas is the excitement of our kiddies. It isn't the same now they are grownups. But not complaining too much because they come over and we love each other, but yeah when they are little oh boy
