Having lived on the border a while I have trouble buying that one. I've had my vehicle searched a couple of times, and when I notified the officers that I had an animal I was told I would need to remove it or secure it in a kennel.

I think the last Fiat I drove was one of these........

1958 Fiat Abarth 750 GT Zagato

A Fiat/Abarth track only car form the late 50's early 60's. Wedged myself in the drivers seat without shoes cause my shoes were too long to work the pedals. Was glad for the roof bubble, would not have been able to use a helmet. Just a fast tuning run with the owner on the right side (no seat).

    Like little cars that go!
Old man down the street had a 2 door 510. Box stock.
He finally decided to sell it. The project took almost 2 years to complete. Handed a lot of high dollar sports cars the bill for lunch.

That caused a little mental hopscotch.....

Had a mechanic friend with a shop in Fremont that had a gorgeous TR6, Placed 3rd at the Oakland roadster show in late 60's custom sports cars (competition was all corvettes). Was dinged back to 3rd cause the car was dirty from being driven there in the rain. We ran as back markers (to fix stuff as it broke) for a group of Triumphs going to a big event in Lake Havasu, AZ a couple of months before he entered the show. Yes we drove our cars........

Well he was also a performance nut. When we were running around he had a 510 with a built Toyota rally engine in it. He later built another 510 and shoe horned in a SBC of some kind.

Speaking of large elusive felines... I nearly hit a Mountain Lion on US26 in WY, on the eastern slope of Togwotee.

I saw the shape of a 4 legged critter very near the shoulder in the glow of my high beams, at first I thought it was a coyote. But as I got closer I realised it was much bigger than a coyote, and the stance wasn't right to be a dog. When I was about 50 feet away it suddenly spun around to cross the road in front of me, but reconsidered, spun back around, and bounded away into the darkness. That was when I could clearly see exactly what kind of animal it was.

That is the only time I have personally seen a wild Mountain Lion... Ive seen thier tracks before, and was even stalked by one while hunting one year. Of course I didnt realise I was being stalked until I reversed course and came upon its tracks directly on top of my own in the snow, which had been undisturbed until I passed the first time.

But tonight I could very clearly see this cat... A very beautiful creature. Its body, not including the tail, was longer than a reflector post is tall. When the tail was taken into consideration total length was nearly double that of its body alone. And the tail I'm sure was larger around than a baseball bat... And the way that tail moved to counter its balance when it would spin was a sight to behold. It is a sight I will not soon forget.

I saw a bob cat on top of an oil battery. I got up top and he was sitting on an oil tank. I backed up slowly and went to my next well on my list.

Well I didn't idle and woke up to my bunk heater being off. Truck started slowly. I have a gas generator in the headache vault, so I could have charged the batteries and ran block heater to get it back to life. But at 3'F, would have been cold. Note to self don't leave inverter fridge on.

I put in 1/3rd of a bottle of ant gel, when i put in 75 gallons to get to a half tank. A bottle is $21. Funny at walmart it's like $13. I should plan accordingly.
