Taking a jaunt off my typical lanes paid off for me in spades.
Just hit my all time high water mark for OTR:
7 days/70 hours/4,000 miles
Just wanted to share. I am a company driver so putting up miles is obviously the MO. I get how you owners play a different game. I really doubt this will ever happen again. The stars just aligned and it was one of those weeks where everything was in sync.
What if it Snows?

If you continue to take 10, hurricane Michael clear cut about 30-50 mile wide swath of pines in the Florida panhandle. Snapped like toothpicks 20 feet up for miles and miles. Breathtaking stuff.D.Tibbitt, 77fib77, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this.

The burrito was pretty dang good. I also fixed a salad to go with it. Can't help it Dave. I try like a champ. This is the very reason I prefer rest areas. F'n Carl's jr. sign will make me buckle at the knees.

Just came through there myself. To add insult to injury, the recent Deep Freeze did additional damage to properties under construction. Lots of water pipe destruction. I swear, if I lived in that town I'd be second guessing my purpose in life. Poor folks have been screwed over. Gawd speed for sure.Last edited: Mar 2, 2021
Reason for edit: Let's help the Filter.D.Tibbitt, LoSt_AgAiN, lovesthedrive and 3 others Thank this. -
Agreed, I got some fuel at a place near Slidell La after loading in Houston. I delivered that load in Norfolk listening to the radio accounts of that storm while headed east on US 58. Several weeks later I drove back through that area while headed south I 59 and took notice of all the damage. I am old enough to remember what some call Katrina's mother "Camille". I would be willing to bet 99% of the damage caused by Camille is now repaired, but if you know where to look you can see a few remaining scars.
Speaking of Camille I have a friend I have known for years. She lost her husband back in 2003. Back in 1969 they were dating and she was in school at Georgia Tech and he was going to Emory, but they were visiting her southern Mississippi home. As Camille got closer her family headed out to Meridian to ride out the storm and this friend and her then-boyfriend told her folks they were driving back to Atlanta. They did not. They foolishly headed south and were near Pass Christan Mississippi when Camille hit. Her father, later on, discovered this. The story I was told is he took the boyfriend out on a waterway at night and showed him all the gators in the water. Then the warning if he ever placed his daughter in danger again this is where he would put his body.dwells40, LoSt_AgAiN, Dave_in_AZ and 5 others Thank this. -
That looks like Cherokee NC. We were there once, at the Rattlesnake Place. Pam was stopped at the bridge. Didn’t go under. Took Me an hour to help him get out of the jam.D.Tibbitt, LoSt_AgAiN, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.

I was hoping you were exaggerating about Target. Just dropped my trailer. Leave property. Wait on a call in 4-5 hrs. There’s a first and a last time for everything. No wonder the Broker didn’t have the info on Confirmation sheet. Instead I got an addendum. Lol.D.Tibbitt, dwells40, LoSt_AgAiN and 3 others Thank this.

Spring fever is real in Michigan I can see a lot of uncovered grass. I expect frost laws to be implemented any day.
