The system that was installed on the reitnouer trailers had brass pressure part that was $75.00 to replace. Some sort of over pressure thing.Dale thompson, Rideandrepair, lovesthedrive and 3 others Thank this.

I had an 8 year old LS step half of them were bad. I disconnected those. Plus the trailer would leak and pop the red button after 1 hour.
A newer LS dry van it's fine.Last edited: Mar 18, 2021

This seems to be a common theme with the new technology they come up withDave_in_AZ, Lumper Humper, Dale thompson and 6 others Thank this.

When they work, it’s good. They require a fair amount of maintenance. The part Dave is talking about is a constant problem. The other big problem part is the hose from the hub to the valve stem. They can get corrosion on the connector and start leaking.Wasted Thyme, Dale thompson, Rideandrepair and 5 others Thank this.

kinda need to clarify?
The crossfire pressure balancing thingies I had were problematic after a couple of years. Crossfire - Dual Dynamics
The auto-inflate systems that are typically fitted to trailers work good to cover up for drivers that don't thump the tires. Will also help keep from getting a blowout if you get a puncture that would otherwise drop your pressure while traveling. Also develop leaks that cause flat tires. Picked up a trailer with an inside tire off the bead, was only a couple of miles up the road to a TA so ran it over there. It actually reset the bead on the way over, but something was leaking that the TA guys replaced. I got the $25 for letting them do the 120 day inspection also. Only hung me up for a day to get the junk fixed. Was actually a motivator for getting buying a trailer. Quality seems to be lacking and repairs on the road are problematic. Don't see many drive axles fitted with auto inflate primarily cause it is hard to get the axle housing to hold 100psi
Rather than do either system, I would just look for some pressure indicator caps or the ones that send a signal to a dashboard reader something along the lines of this. https://doranmfg.com/truck-trailer-tire-pressure-monitoring-system/Rideandrepair, lovesthedrive, LoSt_AgAiN and 1 other person Thank this. -
All our trailer have it... It saves alot of time I think. Never have to worry about a low tire, if it starts F up then you can close a valve and disable it. I have even been able to reinflate a flat and get it to a shop to have it patched... That particular tire had a 5 inch long bolt in it, and the bolt was about as big around as my finger.LoSt_AgAiN, Wasted Thyme, Dale thompson and 3 others Thank this.

Too bad you dont have a yacht. Sailing Zatarra has no issues of if they want to leave. Granted they are taking refuge down under at this time.

My old joke as a city Driver was Radio works heat works, good to go. My last City Truck in 1995, didn’t have a radio. Spent a year working 60 hrs in 5 days. Sometimes 4, ( OT after 8 hrs pays 72 hrs) No Radio at all. I spent my time thinking, planning, House remodel, Buying Truck, and playing with the calculator, Lol. 32 yrs old, I had so much energy. Only slept 4-5 nights a week. Probably why I’m so worn out now!!Swine hauler, 77fib77, lovesthedrive and 11 others Thank this.
