The north east is basically all of new england. The western borders of Vermont, Massachussets, and Connecticut.

Well it don't matter much to dad these days (passed 3 yrs ago) but I do wish mom would make some biscuits!
My wife's tried but there have been a few times she's pushed her own plate back. She's a good cook too biscuits just seem to be be nemesis.

 

With grandma it was all "by gosh and by golly" never used a measuring cup, just grab some of this and throw it in.

 

Good biscuits are sort of hard to make. You need the right ingredients. Then you have to not over work the dough. When you cut them, don’t twist the cutter, twisting smears the edges and keeps them from rising.

White Lilly makes a really good self rising flour for biscuits. They have recipes and a few videos on it.

 

I'll look up white Lilly, Jerry Clower did a great routine about biscuits, I'll have to look for a link.
