It's Lodge Pole Pine... We dont have hardwood around this part of the country. Around here Douglas Fir is the preferred firewood, but its hard to come by and usually more expensive. Lodge Pole is the next best thing, and it's mainly what I have been burning for the last 7 years.
And yes it is a good price... I paid nearly half that much last year for 4 cord.dwells40, Dale thompson, InTooDeep and 5 others Thank this. -

Old school wood stoves dating to the 70s and 80s... I had an old Fisher freestanding wood stove in my old place, that stove is now stored out back in a shed.
I modified the above stove, when I first got it, to add the heat exchanger pipes, air box & fan (on rear of stove.)
My new house has a Hurricane wood insert.
Both stoves are older but very good in my opinion, both were known to be some of the best in thier time.dwells40, Dale thompson, austinmike and 6 others Thank this. -
He's got a splint to immobilize it, which is padded with gauze and held in place with Vet Wrap. For the first couple days he was pretty much immobile without help. Since then he has remembered how to crawl and scoot to get around almost as fast as before.77fib77, JolliRoger, dwells40 and 8 others Thank this.

Very nice.
I purchased my first, and only stove in 1978, a Cawley LeMay. Once I finish my cabin, it will be front and center. I love, love, love wood heat.JolliRoger, dwells40, Dale thompson and 6 others Thank this.
