So there was this truck driver who was getting fed up with his job. So he took 2 weeks vacation......and took a 2400 mile road trip with his missus.

We had a blast, though. Saw family, ate some good food, spent some money, did some "touristy" stuff, stayed an extra day in the motel once or twice, just because neither one of us felt like getting out of bed.

Back home now, and it feels good.
All the repairs are done on my truck.

Goin' back out Tuesday or Wednesday, freight depending.

Chihuahuas are the oldest breed. Very misunderstood, like Pit bulls. Recently saw a Chihuahua/ Pit bull mix. That would make for a very possessive watch dog. Not sure I’d want that mix. Picture of little Chihuahua Father was amusing to say the least. I’ve heard of such things, with the little dog doing the deed from a back porch step. Lol.

Only thing that would make it better would be a log lift. Nope, picking up logs aint for me.

And at a fraction of the price as a fancy processor... I think I spent about $1500 to build those 2 splitters... Not $1500 each, but together. And I traded the Catersplitter for a pickup and the Fisher wood stove. All in I'd say I'm money ahead.

I thought about putting one on it... But I rarely get into wood that is so big I have to grunt to lift it. That said I have had some (very few) 36" diameter green cottonwood that I thought I was going to pull my pinch string before I got them up to the beam... When I split them it was like juicing an orange, you could have easily filled a large soda cup with the water that came out of 1 round by the time it was all in firewood size pieces.

I always had a Dog, for about 55 yrs or so. My last one was a German Shorthaired Pointer. Great hunting Dog for me.
He passed after 7 yrs. I haven't gotten another one since. I named Him Bronx. He went everywhere with me including the Truck.
My only Daughter at the time was 24 yrs old, She got sick and died, cancer. Marriage fell apart, went through bankruptcy only had an older model 90 KW cabover left and the Dog. My personal world came apart, no interest in anything.
Started drinking a fifth of vodga a day after Her passing. So, I just hung out with Bronx. Didn't drink in the daytime as I drove but the evenings was a different occasion. This went on for a cpl yrs or more.
Long story short, Bronx started the healing process, I would talk with Him for hrs, 1000's of hrs. He would lay His head on my lap and just listen.
Slowly, I recovered. Stopped drinking and today? Things are not too bad, have new Friends. My best friend at the time taught me to love again unconditionally.
Was a special bond we had, that Canine and I. I love animals. They are kool.
