If you have copper pipes in the house hold plumbing? The act of using copper plumbing has long been known to clean the water. Its why I laugh at all these home owners that are building their homes with PEX tubing.

    People also ask
    Does copper pipe disinfect water?
Studies have shown that copper surfaces completely kill bacteria.

Water, that's why western train lines had water storage at nearly every depot.

Thanks. Still remember in;1957, those heavy duty steam hogs sitting this side of Tehachapi waiting
to double head the next freight WB over and hold him slow going down. Unhook and sit chuffing till
one come EB and boost him back over. Times have progressed......

The black tender is mostly oil. Oil has the highest capacity of btu per pound. At least that is burned. I tossed on the radioactive only as comparison.
    BTU comparison (approximately)
    soft wood 2
    hard wood 3
    propane 4
    coal 5-6
oil 9 - 15 (15 is bunker oil used in power plants)
    radioactive 99

Since there are more tenders to hold water, the answer is fairly obvious. Steam locomotives are not very efficient. They are gas guzzlers at about 2mpg. It is the reasons that railroads went to diesels. Tho in perspective today, Coal is 4 times cheaper than oil. So in many respects a coal fired locomotive is cheaper to operate now than a diesel. Also a steam locomotive powered train will get more riders than a diesel locomotive. Hence why there are more amusement type locations that will have a steam locomotive to attract tourism.

Sheet rock is a lot like work.

Hung some 12 × 4 x 5/8" in some commercial applications when I was in my early 20's for $100 for 4 hours for extra money after work.

    Ummmmm yea.
    No.

Yeah, when I was little I figured out there was no cheap, easy way to get from where I was to where
I wanted to be, so I learned to walk. That ability has stood me in good stead lo these many years.
