Depends on the day, the weather, and whether or not I want to be a total Richard myself. Now days with the level of aggressive behavior some demonstrate I just play it safe rather than sticking by my gut reaction of leaving them stranded at the cones. It used to be.. images.jpeg

To me your in the wrong. How ever, if you were there to block traffic. I would have called over to you on the cb. Let you drive as a blocker. Matched your slow speed. Held an opening so you could merge in. When I was driving I had done that several times.

Tho in Connecticut, people that use the shoulder get a nasty ticket. There is usually a trooper up ahead that is penailizing the "line cutters". He will wave you over as he saw you trying to beat the odds.

Were I one to do pretrips, I would say this is something that could have been prevented.
But, since I don't, I'd say it's totally not your fault.
Enjoy your time waiting for a repair.

Did the pretrip, slid tandems like I've done 3x this week with no problems. For some reason (rust?) The rear spring holding up the lines didn't stretch as well as it had previously.

Also, I'll just skip over to the TA buy the hose and fix it myself, too long and too expensive to have a TS mechanic come out and do it.

That is a crappy road. They are working on big chunks of it. It is getting better, slowly.
