That was a daily activity in my youth. Compensation was a tad shy, room and board, some clothes.

Just pulled the last container from a drop yard that was from the batch of 18 that came in last week.

Been dragging them down around running product out to the tribal wholesalers.........

There are 8 more containers (on 2 ships) scheduled to land in Portland next week. Customs can be kinda slow so 3 of those will most likely be ready the following week.

The office folks are struggling to get LTL sized customer orders scheduled and shipped with on hand product.

They are shipping out full loads to the bigger customers, 1 or 2 loads a day.

Chaos on the horizon is because of state regs that force contractual obligations. WA locations that can't sell in the building so they sell from trailers, can't drop those till June. OR they can sell in the store but fire dept says no stock in the store till Mid June.

They are mumbling about having me do an out and back to KS once each month. Holding them off because more than one trip per month I would need an ELD in the truck......

I hate Trucking. Can’t seem to get that out of my head. D.Tibbit always seemed to enjoy Trucking. Always running hard, tarping, and never complaining. Then all of a sudden drops a bombshell. Now Cattleman has a plan. None of this is helping Me get some enthusiasm to Work. I’ve been thinking, what to do. Just ain’t feeling it. Polish the Tanks and wheels? No, too much work. Put my new stereo in? Not enough patience. Dig out my old boots? To much work getting them on and off. Maybe I’ll buy one of those straw hats at Loves. Cover my bald spot. Maybe a Midnight Rider Truckers shirt? Maybe not. Either way, time to cut my hair, shave, and head back out. Maybe I’ll listen to some old Trucking songs. That used to work. Yep that’s it. Need some Dave Dudley, no Red Sovine though, things aren’t that bad, maybe some Waylon. Some good Classic Country, before it was ruined by Garth Brooks. That’s my plan.

I feel sorry for the poor SOB that had to drill all those holes... Even with a super nice magnetic drill that kind of steel, that thick, is a F to drill.

Looks to me they used the slab as a fixturing device to keep the 2 pieces aligned while they drilled the lower holes... Then I'll bet they attached another slab to the lower row while they finished drilling the upper rows of holes... Finally all holes are drilled and a single slab can be placed and bolted through both upper and lower rows of holes.

In all actuality that joint will probably have enough flex to prevent new cracks from forming. Its amazing how much flex jointed-steel provides... The question then arises, is that amount of flex going to affect the safe load capacity of the bridge???
