Trailers at western get a at least once year DOT inspection and sticker. There’s also paperwork in the nose box detailing it with the registration. I think we have a lot of new people who don’t know any better.

Tractor also get a yearly Co. inspection. I’ve now also had 5 DOT level 1 and or level 3 inspections this year on my tractor and me. I have zero CSA points and have never been put out of service. I take it very seriously.

Government mandate is once per year.

Drivers should be inspecting at least once per day per the Gov't regs.

Well once the spring came loose the shoes were able to move a lot... Id bet the really bad one is the bottom shoe and it was trying to twist clear out of the drum, them would bind against the drum then fly back into drum.

That spring is the main spring that holds shoes tight to the S-Cam.

Would hated to be behind this tailer when the parts started flyimg out from underneath. Ever seen brake shoes lying on the shoulder??? This is how they got there.

Well got a 1600 mile run from dispatch... Was given 3 days to complete. After day 1 (yesterday/last night) decided I could do it in 2 days... Dont want to sit and wait 24 hours to get unloaded... So I can take my time today and tomorrow... OR run hard and maybe get unloaded... So I took matters into my own hands... Called broker and reciever, both comfirmed that 24 hours early is not going to be a problem amd I will be able to get unloaded early.

I'm going to find out... Wish me luck.

Thankfully WE documents the drivers whom used their trailers. So it only takes a search by safety to see who and where the trailer was used. Yet yikes, I just wonder if the trailer had been written up and WE once again lost the paperwork in the name of keeping money in their pockets.

Yeah I know, I am biased after how poorly they treated me.

You’re like a ray of sunshine into the WE world. :D :D

Safety cares. It just takes a driver who cares to get it done. Period. I could’ve just taken this and dropped and blamed the next guy....that’s not professional and I don’t care that it cost me a day. I believe the company and how it’s run now appreciates that.

Haven’t seen brake shoes yet. That actually sounds horrifying.
