It is very difficult for people to learn that already know everything, and that are smarter than everyone else.

I have had friends in similar situations with thier wives. One Guy was a kill truck driver/operator. Wife's original kids would sit at home all day in thier early 20s smoking weed being bums. If you showed up in the oil field you could make $15 an hour. Back in14??? If you didn't mind getting dirty $20 or $25 an hour. Their joint kids were out of the house and all younger. But she would lose her mind if he tried to force them to work. Not a fun situation.

Only place I found anyone smarter than me was at the truckstop lunch counter.

That's true. If they ran the world we would have peace or war, whatever they wanted. That 75 mpg carburetor, the cia would have to release that.

My first real job was mucking out horse stalls that had been neglected for quite some time... Paid $3.50/hr... I was 13. Once school let out for summer I worked for the same guy building fence... Paid $4.50/hr... I was still 13. I must have built 100 miles of 5 strand barb-wire fence that summer.
