What if it Snows?

Well I have the treadle valve off. I can't get the studs out of it. I'll use a propane torch tomorrow. I went upto freightliner and they didn't carry them. I wanted to go new on them. Anyone have a better idea to get them out? I went to Lowes, home Depot, two auto part stores. No one had studs. Would truckpro carry them?

The old one was pressurizing the blue line up. It would pop when doing drop and hooks. It has hissed on off for a few weeks, so time togo. I didn't expect studs to get an issue.


I tried with vice grips, it didn't work.

 

A Hare don't care either.

 

Try putting on 2 nuts; jammed together, giving you maybe a little better torque position.
Before or after heat, careful.

 

If I tighten the nut it will pull out the stud?

 

Not sure of details but seem to recall a method using gentle power buff with toothpaste as the grit.
Supposed to clean w/out scarring. As for keeping, no clue.

 

What about just using bolts instead? I think if you put it in a vice, or if you don’t have a vice, use a bottle jack and the ICC bumper. Use 2 of the nuts together, in the middle of the stud. Get them tight. Then put a wrench on the inside nut. Heat will help. A yellow map torch. Otherwise cut the aluminum, making a split in the same direction as the stud, with a grinder, cutting wheel, hacksaw, chisel, hammer. Bust it up.

 

You need 2 nuts. The outside one works as a jam nut, holding the inside nut, then loosen using the inside nut, it will stay jammed on the stud.

Ive used inhouse store brands as they were gifted to me.

im fairly sure its just an acrylic clear, but i dont have any around to check.

Our main killer is uv exposure and impact damage., where im sure the winter treatments are causing you grief.
