Major land hurricane went through power outages lots of big tree branches in the road water over the road. Me I’m just chilling wondering why people don’t think a standby generator isn’t necessary?

It doesn't take alot either. When the #### hits the fan it's hard to beat a portable generator and 20 gallons of fossil fuel. When my F'n Apu is working I even use that during hurricanes.

That's what my neighbor has. I can see it in harsh winter weather. Thought about it myself. Just hard to justify in the south. I can run two emergency window units, television and refrigerator off a Honda 3000. Would be sweet to have it automatic though. Nothing worse than being hung over after a hurricane and having to gather up extension cords. Lol

I'm just south of you, in Novi. About half of my neighborhood has generators, really paid off a couple of weeks ago when the power was out for 5 days.

I’m watching the news now. Looks pretty rough, a mile or two north of you.
