Just another 60 degree morning and nothing is burning. I understand why so many people want to live here. I just don’t understand why they want to be governed by idiots. The exceptionally civic minded city of Detroit (the one that had a 140% participation in the presidential election) had a primary election with a participation rate of 11%. Nothing to see hear just move along.

False and true. False if you dont wander under leafy trees. True if you dont pay attention to how ticks are transferred.

Ticks usually are on the underside of leafy plants. The problem is that people like to explore Maine outback. Yes some locals get ticks in their back yards from mowing lawns. Yet ticks dont attack everyone. Maine has over one million residents. So if 100,000 cases are known, it is only 1 in 10 people. Or at least that is people that are willing to be accounted for.

So yes if a tick lands on you, you will get bitten (eventually). So far with all the bushes I mow under, I havent had one bite me in the 36 years I have lived here. The wife has lived here all her life. She saw a spider tick on her and she killed it. She grooms the cats and we have only killed 5 ticks in 20 some odd years on 4 different cats.

Also the tick has to be hungry to want to bite you.

An ammendment to the tick post. Alot of tick biting is dependent on clothing. I dont wear shorts outside. Full length jeans. Alot of the people out there that are getting tick bites are not wearing full length pants. They are wearing some type of shorts.

Ticks arent climbers. So the bulk of the leafy plants they get on are about ankle high. Cats and Dogs will get ticks as they will rub against plants in their journeys through the woods. Thankfully our two black cats havent had ticks yet. Yes they do like to explore outside.
