And the brake chambers / cans aren't the same as the one's for drums.

Having faced the tire gremlins recently I feel your pain, it is severely frustrating to do everything right and be sidelined by something unpreventable.

I thanked it 3x to offset the balance.

Thinking somebody didn't properly clean prior to welding.

They have automatic slack adjusters, never needed to adjust mine.

My issue was seeing how much pad was left while the tires are on. then again pads last 500k miles or more.

I'm at 470K. Going to start inquiring on what a full set of brakes cost for this bad boy. I'd hate to even think about rotors.

On the old Pete, the shop in Vegas that did the front pads, told me disc where $1200 plus and typically 4 days away even "express shipping". And shipping was freaking expensive cause of weight.

Were you dealing with as many idiots who couldn't drive as we do here in the states?

I lost half a pad and the remaining part wore down real fast and heated the rotor enough to cause a seal to fail. The rest of the pads were at about a quarter after 750k miles

I find driving in the US to be calm.
This statement is based on a 10000Klms long road trip and several smaller trips. Including NYC and LA.
