That's why I carry cables,to make others happy, if I feel a need for traction it's iron.

From what we've seen, we get better mileage with the beads... Lead weights don't adjust as the tire wears, and centrimatics can get stuck and go out of balance as the tire continues to wear... The beads solve both issues.

Just beware of the stray bead or 2 that comes shooting out the valve stem when you remove the core... Lol

Ill give the beads a shot next time. That makes sense . Do u guys do all the tires with beads ? Or just steers?

Ive got a set of socks that ive had goingbon 4 years... But they only get used to get me out of a snow bank, out from under a trailer, or out of an ice hole in parking lots... Never been used for On Road travel... And even at that 2 of them are looking pretty rough. They are for super singles, but I have put them on the steers before to get enough traction in a hockey rink of a lot to get backed into a super tight dock... Barefoot the steers just wanted to slide downhill and jack-knife me, the socks solved that problem.

Mine have been retired to edge protection duty . They sure do a good job of that. The stretchyness of them i can stretch them over a sharp piece of metal to protect a tarp as well. Atleast i can say ive got my money out of them, just not in the way that i intended lol

From what ive seen ALL our steers have beads... But only SOME or the trucks have them in the drives... Not sure why. We do do alot of test tire stuff, so that probablybplays into the setup some. We actually have 4 trucks running tires that ARE NOT available to be purchased anywhere... Not sure if they have any beads or not.

That's the first I've heard of the issue with Centrimatics......

As long as the tires are dry inside the beads seam to work good. Was a few years back and there was a problem with the beads being too small and blocking the valve stem open. The new stuff in the store should not have that problem.

The guys at Loves didn't like fixing flats on tires with beads, harder to get the patch area clean. Stuff got all over and made a mess of the shop.

1300 bucks for 2 steer tires, fet, labor and balance. Hope we get good life out of these new tires.
