Learned a valuable lesson with my pre trip this morning. Truck good....trailer good. Get to first stop and powered pallet jack......dead. I guess I gotta start checking that now too.

    STT update:

    Newest favorite story.

A female motorist flipped him off, and a cop saw it. The motorist had a choice to have sex with him or get arrested for sexual harassment. So she slept with him.

    Newest favorite trucker fail:

I had to teach him how to use Jake brakes. Not kidding. He kept hammering on my service brakes. So I asked why he wasn’t using the Jakes. He said he was. On this X-15 powered International the jakes are quite good. We all know you can hear and feel them. So he now is quite happy because “no one ever showed him how to do that”

    Blink-blink-blink.

I'm sorry if you already answered this and I missed it. I know you said he was experienced and 60. Is he on your truck for like newb training or just like a short orientation? The not knowing how to use the jakes has me scratching my head a lil.

    tramm01 and Cattleman84 Thank this.

Otter, when he gets ready to start one of these
“stories of the road” you need to video record them.
Don’t have to show him, you could point the lens out the windshield, just the audio. They have to be a hoot.

There’s a lot of head scratching going on for me. He told me he had a lot of experience. I discussed his record with driver training and they gave me the highlights. So he’s definitely been in a truck.

He’s a 4X student which means he has 240 hours of training. You only get to be a 4X if you’ve had multiple incidents in your career. I believe i get a lot of 4X students who’ve been safety terminated other places because of my calm demeanor and my ability to articulate methods.

It would be a hoot. But I’m not going to record someone with out their permission.

All joking and story time aside. He’s a nice guy getting a chance to resurrect his career. Kudos to him for trying and riding with a punk like me. Also all the crap the WE gets I’m glad they at least give drivers a second chance. It’s important to give people a shot in my book.

But ya if I recorded this it would go viral.
