Left Cincy this morning for the greater Bristol, TN area.

Truck OAT thermometer says it's 72.

I've been driving thru intermittent tain all morning.

I stopped at a local "hole in the wall" truck stop, nearby the receiver, to pick up a couple sandwiches, because this receiver sometimes takes a LONG time to QA product samples.

Well, I just had a sausage egg and cheese sandwich with THE spiciest breakfast sausage I've ever eaten. I was checking the patty for jalapeño fragments. Didn't see any, but doesn't mean they're not there. Wow.

While I'm sitting here waiting on QA, a Canteen Co. box truck pulls in. After sitting there for about two minutes, this skinny red haired chick gets out of the cab....

    .....finishes her cigarette.

    Lights another one

Pulls the two-wheeler out of the storage slot

Sets it up 20 feet from the truck

Starts pulling totes out of the side bay, one at a time, walks them 20 feet to the dolly, then walks back for another one.

    She doesn't look that old.

The guy who does the machines at our terminal is about 70. He can load all three machines, pour a cup of coffee and bs with us until he finishes his coffee, and is outta there in 20 minutes to a half hour.

    The chick is back.

    8 totes. 55 minutes.

And this is a high-security (peanut-free) food plant, so I'd say all the machines are in one room.

At least she showed up to work today, I guess........

As long as the daytime temps get up into the 60s the house stays comfortable without a fire. Its insulated REALLY good, so no fire... Yet.
