Exactly right. The house I'm living in now is about 1200 square feet with electric heat. Last winter I ran the heater for a month just out of curiosity as to costs. The bill for the heat alone came to over 100 dollars.
Wood heat, for me anyway, makes sense.
Now, if I could just find a way to make wood cool this place on those 115 degree summer days I'd be a happy man.![]()

Can’t beat a window unit. They’re so cheap nowadays. Last forever. Efficient too. One in the living room, one in each bedroom. Ceiling fans. Shades drawn, set on Low. Good insulated once it gets cool, will stay that way. The high heat is usually between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.
