We need more trees. All kinds. Lumber, exotics you name it. What kind of apples are they? Have more than one type?

 

Agree with the whole statement until one word...cruel...I think not and in most cases avoidable, you know don't do the crime if you can handle the time.

 

Got 2 major CF going on. Waiting for the 3rd one to hit.

 

I don't know about the apples. They're a light red color when ripe. Not real sweet and they're small. About the size of a baseball.. The women used to can them every year but we never ate many right off the tree. The deer and the occasional bear take care of the windfalls. LOL...there's volunteer apple trees all over the ranch. The deer and the bear help scatter fertilized seed for us.
Yes on more trees. When we log a piece of our ground we usually put back from three to five trees for every one we take. My brother is the logger in the family and I'm just repeating what he's told me.
. We thin the ones that don't thrive. Some years back we had a professional forester work up a land use plan so that we can log on perpetual yield. If we stick to the plan and the fires leave us alone we'll never run out of trees to cut.
There are places here that my family logged back in the 1920s that you can't tell anybody ever set foot on.
