Not late... My Dad is about to turn 59... He became a Grandpapa in April of 2018 when my son was born, then again about 6, or maybe 8 month later when my niece was born.

My folks had a big Orange Tom cat for many many years. He was born to the old mother cat we had when I was a teenager. He got hurt as a kitten and it messed up 1 front paw... From that day on he walked on the knuckles of that 1 paw like a monkey. He was the only cat dad took with them when they moved. He would disappear for a week or 2 to go tom catting then return for a few weeks then be gone again. Was that way for years... He was always slow when walking but could out run just about everything else around including fox, and dogs. When he got really old he had gotten much slower, then one day he left to go tom catting and never returned... He was a cool cat. Name was Big Tom.

The best cat in my life adopted my family when I was about four. We named him Caesar, a HUGE white tom cat.

We were blessed with his presence for three years, until he was poisoned. I had a good idea who did it. I walked by that "neighbors" house with a 30 odd six on my shoulder, giving them a look of regard. That was back when a boy carrying a rifle in the neighborhood was a normal thing.

    Caesar was a special soul.
