I have returned to the scene of not being fixed. Might be my fault I didn’t do a walk around before I left drove 15 miles to scale. After an axle slide when going around to check the lock pins I noticed that the brake lights are on full time. So I’m back at the Ryder shop being ignored.

Trucks are backed up on the freeway on I80 East bound at the border for mile parked along the median. As I80 has been shut down for almost 24 hours, the new arrivals are obviously the drivers who got complacent about trip planning over the summer.

Pro Tip, if the road is closed between Point of Rocks and Rawlins due to a multi truck crash they only have a small number of heavy recovery tow trucks and it will take a long time (a day to days) to clear the road. If you can't route around I80 in Wyoming, stop where you are near services before hitting Wyoming as the legal truck parking in those small towns fills up within an hour of a closure.

Winter time mandates good trip planning...which isn't simply entering your destination into the GPS.

Please remember to slow down when your trailer starts to sway in the winds and get out of the habit of following too close. I know this is something that happens every single year but I saw so many trucks with get-there-itis I knew that it was going to be a bad closure yesterday.

If you can't keep your trailers tandems in the lane due to gusts....there is only one option and that is to slow down and if needed, stop. Pushing on at max speed is simply not safe when that happens. I saw even OOs driving that way yesterday.

Your life simply isn't worth it.
