Now that is just pure wrong right there. You do realize that most "American products" have some content from overseas?

Neighbor across the street works at a metal fab shop. They make stuff for Paccar, Ferightliner, Gillig (busses) and a bunch of other "American Companies" . They are looking at shutting down for a couple weeks to get material and hardware restocked. Have sub assemblies and other crap hung up in customs.

Toyota perfected the just in time game, cuttings costs by keeping a limited stale inventory. Once other companies saw the profit margin of this strategy they elevated it to the next level, which is fine until something disrupts the market.

Just in time for most assembly operations means keeping inventory storage at the supplier side.

As in the assembly plant cuts it's storage space in half, While every supplier ends up creating a finished goods storage bigger than there old warehouse.

That is in the would be nice category, And it would have been nice if the plan do do that was implemented half a century ago.

The reality is stuff will be built outside the U.S. until the U.S. populace wakes up and gets rid of the major corporations that push production across the boarder for cost savings thus Driving this country toward third world status.
