Pete was the one that fixed the problem. Peterbilt missoula, montana.... They fixed the problem and didnt charge me a dime, and gave me the knowledge of what to do next time if this happens.

You've got millions of "EDUCATED" folks quitting there jobs right now because of Covid fear. Lots of stupid to go around these days.
Cowboyrich, dwells40, DrFlush and 5 others Thank this. -
I wonder what they did wrong. I’ve heard that priming or pre filling filters is a no no. Supposedly because the fuel may not be filtered. Thus the compuchek valve. They’re supposed to hook it up to prime the system. I just wonder if they failed to hook it up, or maybe left the shutoff valve open while changing filters. Be sure to call Loves HQ. Even after you’ve cooled down. Sounds like they need to be educated on changing fuel filters. Future Business with the Pete Dealer is in order. Sounds like a good one.

Folks like that "Just do not get it". And they are not worth the effort to try to convince. If they were mechanics, they would have still been working on it and found the problem, not shooing you away. Pride never let our forklift shop send anything out that me, partners, did not agree it was right. First year or two, we ate a lot of time, and even a local re-builders badly turned crank shaft once. but, 14 year later (1992) we were the forklift shop in Tupelo, MS.Cowboyrich, homeskillet, Swine hauler and 6 others Thank this.

That is what the mechanic at pete was ssaying. They mightve taken off the filters and went and did something else for awhile, by the time they got the new ones on there was so much air in the system at that pointhomeskillet, InTooDeep, Dave_in_AZ and 6 others Thank this.

"And all they did was a PM service." Amazing isn't it? PM mechanic is the starting job in most shops. The most important function of maintaining any piece of equipment is assigned to a green kid or a cheap loser to do. Its not the wrenching, its the looking at and puzzling out the things you see that are "off" and correcting or reporting them. Drain plug gaskets bad, grease fitting the won't take grease, a wire dangling in space. etc.Cowboyrich, Speed_Drums, homeskillet and 8 others Thank this.
