I'd start pulling a gas can to help my brother truckers and my nation as long as I can take The OM.
That means we'll need a sleeper even for local work.
What if it Snows?

Delivered in San Antonio just after lunch. Fought the i-35 crowd all the way to Waco, and got the truck unpacked. Just finished Panda Express with the wife, and now gonna enjoy a movie before bed. Y'all stay safe out there.

The nation, I have no allegiance. The politicos have seen to that. With as bad as it is I haven't found anyplace better yet or I would go.
I believe I would help the OTR drivers out there the most by staying out of the way.
I just don't care if they sink or get rich. I would prefer they all get rich.....
My days of driving for hire are numbered at this point. My bad attitude and bank account are in agreement on this.InTooDeep, dwells40, Cowboyrich and 7 others Thank this. -
I’ve never been much of a Team player. I think it’s way overemphasized. Part of the Industrial Machines attempt to strip Us of Individuality. Not being a Team player gets one criticized as being a Loner, or even worse, someone who prefers his own thoughts over what others deem as normal. Team players help the Status Quo remain on top, and in charge. Team players make excellent factory workers, and fast food workers.I’ve heard all the arguments, linking Team sports to Success in Business. Maybe it’s true. But not a requirement for Success. I’m guessing the most Successful, didn’t always follow conventional ideas, weren’t very good Team players. Instead they run the Team.JolliRoger, dwells40, Cowboyrich and 9 others Thank this.

It works on the same principle as the video I posted a while back about secondary burn in a wood stove. As the fire burns it heats the air between the inner and outer layer of steel causing the air to rise. As the fire gets hot enough it super heats the air rising between the layers, when this supper heated air comes out the small holes near the top of the inner layer it causes the unburned gasses in the smoke to ignite. This makes for a very clean and nearly complete burn.InTooDeep, JolliRoger, dwells40 and 12 others Thank this.

So this afternoon a gal in the office grabbed me and handed me an envelope...
Her: You got a mileage bonus
Me: nice
Her: local drivers very rarely get mileage bonus checks because they dont get enough miles to cross the bonus threshold, I was shocked when I saw your name.
Me: I've got a mileage bonus check 3 of the 4 months ive been doing local.
Her: WOW, thats crazy!
Me: What can I say, I'm actually willing to work.
Her: *chuckle*InTooDeep, homeskillet, Cowboyrich and 13 others Thank this. -

It's pretty darn dark in the truck. Yet The OM can somehow see to leap from the bed to the cabinet shelf on the passenger side, then from there to the upper bunk.
