Several years ago I delivered to a home depot and the agent was absolutely bent because I delivered it early.

Was stuff for Christmas. The manager was standing in the parking lot, and was like," Awesome!!! So glad you're here. I have 6 people standing there waiting for this stuff."

So docked, was unloaded in like 45 minutes.

This was about 1100. Guess the agent told him I'd be there at 1600.
He was absolutely bent I got there early. Said home depot would give him a service failure for early delivery.

Told him was the store manager and he was exceedingly happy to have the stuff.

Just another day of weirdness in the life of the OTR trucker.

There's a well oiled machine. They're just not good at anything except mistakes.

It's weird, but I have seen this happen elsewhere as well. Local manager was grateful for early delivery, but corporate considered it a service failure due to being outside the window. 7/11s were horrible about this when I worked at McLane and we'd be getting the feel for new routes.

Reminds me of old crapcadia life when I changed delivery time with the plant manager ( his idea ) and the pencil pusher just couldn’t understand why I would do that. Then told me I couldn’t do that anymore and I quit. I’m old and cranky and don’t have time to suffer stupidity.

Talked to the dude with the lumber truck, he's currently 123K gross.

His max is 129K and if he has to chain up, he's supposed to do 8 axles.

Have my Greek yogurt, my sugar free energy drinks, and about to hit the road. Should make the TA between Seattle and SnowCallMe by early afternoon.

Several of the reefers here that I've walked by smell like creeping death.

    Creeping death is bad.
