Appreciate the explanation.
BC has 3 distinct regions. Islanders, are those who live on Vancouver Island, seperate from mainland BC. Then Vancouver to Hope, is basically its own region, and Lord knows I detest it when dad sends me past Hope occasionally for a load, thankfully not often. Then there are the rest of us, we have 95% of the province by land area, but are spread out and lightly populated. We have the logging, other than a bit on the Island, we have the oil, mining, and natural resources. I feel more at home in Mexico or Hungary, than I do in Vancouver or Victoria.

I'll add, my favorite part of BC is the southeast corner, known as the Kootenays. When I took 10 days of vacation this summer, I loaded up my Indian, and went to the Kootenays with my baby sister, who rode her Indian. When it's time for retirement, I'll likely end up moving down there. They get heavy snow falls, but not the deep freeze temperatures we do. I want a small house, around 1,000² ft on a mountain top, with 360⁰ views.

Victoria is an Island. Feels like they have the same issues as Hawaii. As in "What do you mean you want to charge me more to take 2 additional days and pay for they ferry trip both ways?"
Vancouver Metro is just another metro area. With essentially no Interstate style highways. Read as too many traffic signals. Only draw for my friend to Vancouver was availability of Cuban cigars. U.S. has/had a trade embargo on them.Rideandrepair, Dale thompson, mjd4277 and 4 others Thank this. -

Not concerned about an invasion of folks from Idaho panhandle? Or the seasonal invasion of Ski Bunnies?Rideandrepair, Dale thompson, InTooDeep and 5 others Thank this. -
Idahoans are welcome, bring me some taters. Ski bunnies are always welcome, especially in spring when they are skiing in their bikini, just like me. When 60, my parts will sag, but I'm still spring skiing in a bikini, so don't look closely, it won't be pretty.Rideandrepair, Dale thompson, Cowboyrich and 9 others Thank this. -
And while I will have had to rebuild it by then, will still be riding around on my Indian. Hopefully also have an older pickup, V8 and manual transmission, 4x4, rolling on 35s, listening to a combination of the mud tires growl, and the whooshing noise of the 4 barrel carb when my foot is in it.
Hopefully it is an F250 with 460, and 4 speed. Getting 8 mpg is fine, don't plan to go far in it, and will need to do something to stimulate the economy.homeskillet, Rideandrepair, Dale thompson and 5 others Thank this. -
That would be the low mileage '78 f350 460 with a c6 sitting on the garage side of the shop.Rideandrepair, Dale thompson, dwells40 and 6 others Thank this. -
