They'll have to try harder, I could really do with a good spray of OC to clear things out.

Yesterday we had freezing rain. Ever try using a crutch in freezing rain? Almost impossible. I'm not supposed to walk on my ankle, but did again yesterday. I put one of my big snow boot crampons on over my cast, and walked. Bit later I will go out and start up the old F350 4x4 I bought because it came with an Arctic snow plow on it. It has about 3k lbs of sand in the box for weight, and if I need sand shovel some out. It doesn't have insurance, isn't road worthy, but makes a great plow truck for our long steep driveway and yard. We have had winds almost every day that actually howl they are so strong. And we get rain, freezing rain, or snow most days this week. It can't make up its mind old mother nature, what to throw at us next. They are talking about the possibility of 20"-30" of snow the next couple of days. 30" of snow over 2 or 3 days is actually not much at all. Last winter we had a snow fall on a thursday of 26", Friday 52", and Saturday 39". My baby sister and I just got our snowmobiles out at went riding. Roads in our own neighborhood were closed, so we rode to the gas station, bought gas and groceries, took food to our papa and friends in the area. We rode all over the place that sunny Sunday, we owned the roads, along with others out on their snowmobiles. Monday came and we got 3 more feet, so we stayed inside, Tuesday was sunny so we rode our snowmobiles as the roads were still closed. Wednesday that week they plowed the roads with a pair of D8 bulldozers working together. They plowed at about a 45 degree angle to the roads. One backed up to the far ditch, then pushed the snow ahead into the ditch in front of him, the other was a few hundred feet behind, and pushed at an angle into the other ditch. That was the end of our 5 day vacation, we had to go back to work. We usually get an impromptu winter vacation, they help break up the work, and are fun. 13' of snow in a matter of days has a way of slowing down even the hardcore truckers lolLast edited: Nov 27, 2021

4 hrs later, we have a Loaded Trailer to go get. This is a perfect example of modern day 3rd party Logistics. No ones hustling. Everything’s scheduled carefully. They still can’t keep up. I don’t see how it’s profitable to anyone at all. I’m reminded of working for Central Transport in Romulus. We were so busy, it was unbelievable how much freight moved through there on a daily basis, with only 100 City Trucks. Came in went out on line haul that night. Visa versa. That’s the difference between then and now. I’ve never seen such a busier place since. I imagine UPS and FedEx is. But that’s about the only ones.

Last time was 7 years ago. An arrogant old boy told me I had no business in a truck, it was for men only. Told me to drive home and park, and get a job as a secretary. I said try and make me you old prick. So he shoved me to the ground, I got up, and knocked his old ### out, right on the landing in the middle of the logging show I was hauling logs from. The show's owner watched it happen right in front of him. He walked over, shook my hand, and said 'Well done, you're a better driver than he could ever dream of becoming'. Boss pulled that truck out of the way, parked it, and told me it was my turn to get loaded. When the old prick woke up, he was told he was fired. I was offered a job driving that company truck, but declined it, wasn't going to quit on my papa. Only been in 3 fights, not many, but won all 3 by knock out. That old prick was more than 3 times my weight, didn't do him any good.Last edited: Nov 27, 2021
