You need to make up your mind.

I just gave Steve the money I was going to use for your stake at the dice table, for all the extras for The OM's room.

If it paid the truck by the hour it might be worth it. Then you could pay the driver by the hour. The way it is now there's no way to come out very far ahead.

You are right. if they paid a decent hourly wage to haul cans everyday i may think about it. But it would have to be 6 figures or more. Home everyday by 5pm and a full weekend off .... May be the easiest job in the world if paid by the hour because ur gonna sit there and do nothing for most of the day... But just think how efficient the ports would be if the trucking companies charged by the hour as soon as the truck gets in line to the check in gate! Be in and out of there in less than a hour i bet.

I don't know about any ports except the few on the west coast that I'm familiar with. I don't haul in or out of them, just grin and drive right on by.
The trucks I see that do dedicated port work are usually in pretty bad shape.

What I see in Houston can't be too much different from any other port city. I swear, I think the law doesn't stop these guys because they're afraid something will fall off the truck and injure them.

Drivers should be making minimum $40/hour, time and a half after 8.
