YEA! that makes my $46k in property taxes that I pay, only cost me $28,520.00 in real money after tax. Still too high for a state that politicians brags about how cheap the taxes are.

 

The other thing proposal A did in 1994 was cap the amount per student that each district gets. Some districts are less efficient and perform worse. In those cases, Local taxes would need to be raised, or cuts made. I did my research and chose a School district that spent less and performed better. It paid off well. They actually did a story on the districts fiscal success. Given my wife’s and I experience in public schools, it was the most important priority.

 

Hopefully it’s enough to bump you down into a lower tax rate.

My taxes are $3100 yr. that includes a $700 city tax. City tax gets streets plowed and a few Barney Fifes. Rather be outside the city in the Township. When I lived out out near @Dale thompson, I lived 2 houses outside the Village. That was ideal. 1.5 acres, well, septic, State, township property taxes were $2300. My prior house in the Village was higher, since it included Village tax $600, along with water and sewer bill.
