I remember in the 70s, we went to the local TV shop, a Zenith dealer and bought our first color TV. It was a console, about 5 feet or so wide made out of real wood, more or less. The shop owner was the one who waited on us and unlike today's big box stores, was very knowledgeable about the TVs in his store. And he and his helper delivered and set it up later that evening on his way home.
That kind of service by local store owners was the norm back then. Now it's hard to find a store employee to ask about anything and if you do they don't know anything anyway.

I imagine it's just like the United States--it depends on where you live.

In southern Alabama, we are free to do what we want. NYC... not so much.

2 big storms heading from the west to Michigan for a rendezvous. Along with the record warmth from the south, pushing up. Seems strange storm in LA will hit here in 36 hrs. Tornadoes predicted from Al/Ga to IN. Contemplating going to Indy tomorrow and back for Sat delivery. Avg. $5.00 pm. Very tempting. Drs appointment on Monday. Not many days left to run before Holidays. I know what I should do. Got a couple drive tires to get in Indy. Also need a couple trailer tires.

Page skipper here. I'm prepared for my trip to the Brig, wearing sweats and shower sandals.

Saw a bad wreck today in SLC. Rig somehow lost control on I-215 N at approximately mm23. Smashed through the jersey barriers, crossing into Southbound lanes, blocked at least of the Southbound lanes and 1 Northbound lane. Southbound was completely stopped and backed up for several miles. Northbound had 2 of 4 lanes closed, no backup, amd minimal delay. Conditions were somewhat crappy... Had snowed during the night, some slick spots and wet roads.

Dudes moose guard was still attached to the first jersey barrier that he hit. Next 150 to 200 feet of Jersey barriers were either tipped over or completely destroyed. Tandems were hung up on the jersey barrier, truck was jack-knifed... But everything was still shiny side up. Both fuel tanks appeared to be badly ruptured, hazmat spill team was on sight. As far as I could tell no other vehicles were involved... But that may be incorrect.

I think someone at GT Express safety dept got a huge head ache today. And a driver probably got one hell of an ### chewing.

I liked it better when we had to walk twelve miles in a blinding snowstorm--uphill--both ways--fighting grizzly bears--just to get a belt for our Hoover.

My current vaccum, found it sitting next to the dumpster at my apts in austin. people would put all kinds of good stuff out there. anyway, it looked new. I thought what could possibly be wrong with it? Took it apart and all was wrong was it was clogged up with dirt lol - cleaned it all out and it still works fine.
