Its years ago now, but read about a rally car driving school in Peru. Someday I will get there, and drive a real rally car, where I can drive as fast as I wish, on dirt roads in the desert.
I limit myself to occasionally driving my F150 in areas with no traffic for obvious safety reasons, about as fast as my skill level allows without ditching it.
Last winter my baby sister and I drove to an unused logging road a couple of times, once in winter, and omce in summer. We took radios, and one of us waited at the beginning of the road looking out for anyone who might head up the road. The other would drive up about 20 kms, get the all clear on the radio, and then come back down as fast as we could go and not crash. That was fun! Just put my F150 in 4x4 Hi and go, wish it was a manual, not automatic, and my 5.0 Coyote V8 had twice the hp.
The winter runs, on her 2nd run, my sister nailed the ditch, called on the radio saying that she needed a tug. We were prepared and brought tow straps incase that happened. She did minimal damage to her F150, but her confidence took a bit of a beating. We knew that nobody was ahead of us from there on up to the end of the road, so I had her follow me up at speed, to regain some confidence. Even with traction control turned off, these trucks sure do beep and blink lights on the dash when they are drifting.
I want an old F250, manual, and long before driver aids or anti lock brakes were a thing. Big V8 under the hood, something like an old 460.
That is my dream truck, 1960s would be great.

There is another that also looks interesting in Arizona.
Spring mountain in Parump Nevada has also grabbed my interest, and while far away, is a bit closer than Arizona.
I would like to take the month of May off, and go on a vacation to Nelson again, then down to the US, hit a driving school, ride our bikes back north through the Okanagan, and around the loop through Valemount way.

I called there weeks ago, no answer, so left a message, and never heard a peep back.

With the drama you have had to put up with, that was not of your own doing this past month, don't think I'm going out on a limb and say that a good thing to read from you.

One SOB did that to me last week. What a pig. Those stains look terrible on tires and storage boxes.
