That made me, empathetically, reach down and turn the heater under my desk up a notch.

Have granddaughter in Syracuse. Subscribed to the newspaper there online. Daily weather report last few days: "Coating of one inch". We have seven days per week down here, so are they gonna have a buildup? How long to how much? Was in Buffalo years ago (assembling the deck in a cattle trailer). Colder than a Witches Tit in a Brass Bra. Another driver and I polished off most of a fifth while decking it. Set the bottle on the assembled; walked back for another board, set it, sip, advance bottle, repeat, 34' trailer.

That "Never hooked to a trailer"... Reminds me of a used forklift I was once offered..
Me: It is several years old.
He: Yes, but very low hours.
Me: Ha, Probably belonged to a little old lady.
He: No, It actually was owned by a Suicide Club, and they only cranked it on meeting days.
    He was smooth and quick.

I DO LOVE an old-school diner.

Missus Skillet always says it's not a REAL diner unless it has liver with onions on the menu.

She doesn't eat it, but she DOES look for it.
