What if it Snows?

I've never been to anywhere near that expensive.
If the steak dinner is over $30 I consider it expensive.
Where we took Papa a couple years ago when he turned 60, I had the steak, baked potato, and salad, it was $69 and I thought that was ludicrous.

 

I love Vegas - as degenerate gambler but it is different than it used to be. Order a sandwich at the pool and you just spent $30 not including a drink of any kind. that said, some of the very best restaurants I have eaten in have been in Las Vegas.

 

I was assuming this. He was in pretty poor health. Its crazy how you notice when someone is missing from an online chat forum. I have neighbors that could be missing for months and no one would know.

 

I will pay for a good steak because i maybe go to a nice steakhouse twice a year but it better be #### good. This particular restaurant was in the Circa casino (new downtown mega resort) and they were charging outrageous prices to try and build exclusivity to drawn people from the strip. Problem was the food wasn’t upo to the task. i wasn’t paying so it didn’t hurt me other than a mediocre meal.

better food at the old Commander’s Palace (closed now) or Magnum or 10 other places I could name.

I want to try the Golden Steer - medium prices think $50-75 for a steak but it is old school Vegas…next trip for sure

 

Dave is right about The Four Queens restaurant has good food, low prices, and you get to sit at a table that looks over the gambling floor.

 

But a $350 lobster tail is utterly crazy!

I can understand $25 for one, but not more.
In my tiny world breakfast and lunch shouldn't be more than $10, and dinner under $20.
I'm a simple woman, and if dinner costs over $20, it better be something special.

 

When we were first married and living on a ranch in O'Neil Basin, which is in Northern Nevada, we would take the two hour trip to town (Twin Falls) for our one day off per month to get supplies and groceries. We were so poor that we had to go through the grocery store with calculator in hand so that we didn't have more in our carts than we had money to pay for. We would try to save about 10 bucks so that we could treat ourselves to dinner in Jackpot on the way back to the ranch. If memory serves we could each get a prime rib dinner for something like $1.59 each. That left enough for a small tip and maybe a $2 roll of nickels to gamble with. I never left with any of that roll of nickels. I've not gambled since.

Of course we were making the tidy sum of $600/month, so we really didn't know we were poor.

 

Glad to hear they are well and at home.

 

Entirely different meaning than a tossed salad at The 4 Queens in San Fran..........
