Kinda like gold.... If you sift through enough gravel on occasion you find a nugget with some value.

Always told my wife that I had learned a lot by mingling with the lower classes before we married. She replied," Just don't be using it any longer". Kind of took me down, but love and marriage conquered all. Still, Missed some of it.

Makes me wonder if the root problem is a low current drain through the dirt on top......

Got a car cheap that way from a dealer. They had to jump it every couple of days. Battery was only a few months old. When we got the car home could measure voltage with a voltmeter from one post to the case top. Cleaned the battery up and it was fine. Looked like someone had run a grinder near it and a bunch of little metal flakes were in the oil detailing stuff on top of the battery.

If they are new enough not a problem.

Some are starting to do rapid charge/vehicle to vehicle jump charging.

Most have a bottom charge threshold, that can be overridden or put in a creep mode.

Used to do that. Then tried the mayo thing. Actually good. Browns nice, and is crispy. Also has a nice tang to it. The key is use good mayo, not one of those “sandwich spreads”.
