Answer to #3, i was involved in a fatal accident and I would of been in a truck the next day if I hadn't of been injured.
What if this happens?

Hey again guys,
I got some more questions for all the senior drivers here, which I think you all may have asked yourself before getting into trucking in the first place.
1. What do you do when your truck breaks down?.
If I can limp it to a truck stop with service, try to, if its a tire, get a road call. If ic an fix my self, fix my self. Ive never needed to tow the truck, (knock on wood) but it depends on if it can be fixed roadside or not.
2. What happens when you get in an accident?.
Pull over, call your company, call cops for police report, exchange insurance. Get any additional info you safty guy wants. Take pictures, if you can before cars are moved, that ideal
3. Has anyone here been in an accident before but still kept driving for a long time still?.
You don't drive after hitting something, you stop and report it. If you mean in our career, I've gotten in a few not at fault and still drive.
4. How likely is it for anyone working this job for a career to get into an accident overall?.
Most will get into an at fault fender bender in the first 6 months of their career. Many will get in a few more through out there career. most of the time its the cars fault.
5. If you work the long haul shift, how many days off on average do you usually get?, like per month?.
depend on company..i get week-ends off..
6. If anyone here drives and lives in Canada, how often do you need to go down through the states?.
They try and avoid america when they can since we have stricter hours of service regs.
7. Do most of you listen to music while driving or is that against the rules for your job?.
YES
Thanks in advance for all answers given if possible. I may have more eventually. -

Not that anyone here minds answering your questions, but most everything you asked about, is the reason companies make it mandatory you attend their orientation.
Most, if not all, will also provide you with a handbook for reference should you need a point of contact, phone number, procedure, or a brain jog in case you've forgotten something later on down the road. -
This is straight BS from Shaggy. Everyone knows only classic rock and country are allowed to be played in a big truck. Most companies disable all other stations.Shaggy Thanks this.

I'll buy that. You must have been one of those dispatchers that actually cared about the drivers. Thats the only explaination I'd take.
