You are correct that my supplied information was incomplete. I neglected to include the following. My mistake. Forgive me.
Nope can't say that I can but I bet if you ask a trucking company they would be more then happy to email you the link.Maybe DOT only wants 3 yrs maybe not,I don't know the laws as well as you do but I do know companies want 10 yrs work history including the dates.Recruiters have told me the DOT requires 10 yrs so next time you talk to a requiter ask her why they want 10 yr work history then plz let me know.
The trainer at the school I wanted to go to said I would just have to get a note from a couple of people I did work for and I would be fine... Do you think that's BS or what ? I dunno, sounds like BS to me based on what some people are saying or showing here. He has a ton of good credentials/training in all kinds of aeas (crazy amount) though so I don't know what to believe. I don't want to spend $2,000+ just to find out no one wants to hire. They also do job placement and are partnered with a local company who only hires drivers from them it looks like............
I remember going through all off this. The ten years is for ten years of history where a CDL was required and used. For new drivers with new CDL and no prior driving history it's three years of previous work history. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
What Jynxx said!! 3 years if you are new to the industry, 10 years if you are already a cdl driver. The company is supposed to keep on file and verify your work history ... even if that means 10 years of no work, whatever it may be. If you claim self employment then you need to show it by tax returns or something. I don't think the government spells out what is acceptable work history ... only that a company has to verify what you say on an application. The company still gets to decide whether your work history meets their hiring standards or not. There are certain things, by law, that will prevent you from being a commercial driver .... unemployment isnt on that list.

I can't imagine that work history of any kind is mandated by DOT. I was unemployed for 4 years before I started driving. How is it that I'm driving with no work history!?
if you have no verifiable work history it is better to say you were unemployed for that period. by verifiable i mean taxes.
