just got the 6999's put in today, 3406 (550hp 1850 settings) in my '99 W900, the only bad thing so far is I can't wait till Monday to try it out, got a taste of it running empty from the shop to the house but it was just a tease

BE careful with your old W900 thats the same truck I drive it has 3.9 million km somewhere over 50,000 hrs. I have a 601 hp 2050 ftlb program in it, about 3 months after I upped the program my 1850 ftlb trans got very noisy so replaced it with a 2050 lb unit, 2 months later stopped on an icy hill for chains engaged the interaxle it didn't go all the way in popped the interaxle before I got moving (40,000 lb rears). I have a pittsburg power manifold and holset conversion(best money I have spent). Presently doing an inframe and installing C18 marine injectors and can't wait to get her going. I expect well over 700 hp. I pull fully loaded tridem containers from WINNIPEG, MB to VANCOUVER, BC weekly (meat west, beer east) and average very close to 90,000 lbs gross all the time. Before the inframe (I dropped a liner) averaged about 5.2 to 5.4 mpg, at least I have a fuel cap at 46 cents per litre when the going price here is around $1.00 and up per litre. I average 13,000 miles per month. 98 KW 900L 18 double over with 3.55 rears on 24.5 tall rubber. I run a spinner 2 filter system and change the spin on filter bi-monthly clean the spinner every 6 months and change the oil annually. Engine stay exceptionally clean inside and by the way I run Mobil Delvac 15w-40 non synthetic. My old girl and I know when each other fart, no one but me has ever pulled a load with her and she has never made me walk. We come across the mountains now passing lots of lightly loaded tandems and noone passes me on the flats if I don't want them to.
If you have someone change the clutch and surface the flywheel make sure on these cat engines that they get the dowel pin in the flywheel lined up otherwise you will have lots of fun trying to get them timed after overhaul and can also throw off your topsets. Just don't ask how I know!!!! tom
