I'm surprised Waze hasn't been mentioned. Interface is clunky compared to Google Maps, and Google Maps does use some Waze data (traffic, accidents) since Google bought Waze. But the biggest feature that won't be added to Google Maps any time soon is crowdsourcing of police location / traps. Although if cops like the ones in Miami spend all their time reporting fake locations, might make the app too noisy.
Super interested in learning about how you guys use various mobile scanning software. Scanner Pro has been mentioned, along with Transflo. My team recently released LoadDOCs, in full out research mode now seeing how those in the trucking industry are using it, what do you guys not like about it, what do you wish we had? Would welcome any feedback from tire kickers! -

I use Big Road log book, I'd give it a 10 out of 10! You can email or print logs, edit logs (if needed) it's a easy way to double check yourself if your still using paper. Keeps you error free. I've also been using Let's Truck Gauges to track fuel mileage to the hundredth.
