Yep I had to jump on a load from Washington to get back to mo for a little over 2 a mile. Had three loads and they were gone before I finalized the deal except my broker I work with managed to get one back for me since he had it on hold while I put in a bid. Good news is I got plenty going in so it wasn't a waste of trip at least.

Rest in...something, I guess. You were a...great...something.Renegade92 and Concorde Thank this. -
I delivered to Ridgefield , WA $4.07 going in and then $4.07 Puyallup to Spokane 309 miles.
Funny the last load of 2022 and the first of 23 paid the exact same rpm.
Deadhead to Toppenish for a load to Modesto $2.00 per mile. From there to Aurora, CO where I am currently at waiting for paperwork chocking up detention pay, lol. This one pays $3.13
My next two pay really well but I booked everything way in advance when the “holiday loads” jumped in price.
My dilemma now is looking for a load out of Auburn, WA on the 11th. I’m overdue for a 34 so I can sit a couple days and be stubborn.
We need to meet up sometime in Florida and chat. I got to get back home by the end of the month to file ifta etc. Probably going to take a couple weeks off and celebrate belated holidays.Renegade92 and Siinman Thank this. -
If your gonna put limits on the brokers be ready to accept limits on the trucks.

I read a article where ch Robinson let go their ceo because he didn’t make enough money through these last few boom years .. I’m guessing some brokers will be taking more in the future.

If you are willing to wait it out and do a water or soda load out of Seattle Area going to Spokane you can make some decent money out of that one. I was getting 2-2500 pretty easy when I did that. 1500 was pretty easy to get doing it during the mid morning time. No one likes doing those loads for some strange reason. Guess they cant stand getting stuck in that area. I have a few places I can pick up in that area that comes back home so I never mind doing that.
I have yet to go to Cali yet but had given it some thought the last two times I was in that area. They just do not pay anything close for me to want to go in that area. Not a lot out of CO that is worth a ####. Half the time I go to that area I get a load to Salt Lake or dead head back to KCMO. I hardly ever try when in that area either so I either book something right before or right after unloaded or I start deadheading.
I found that looking ahead and booking before in WA works just as good as waiting and booking if you want to get somewhere other than MT or WY.
I have not been back to Florida for a few was just looking at some loads next week. Someone has been doing some of the stuff I had been doing for cheap so I have stayed away until it comes back up. I am not scared to run in the snow so no big deal. Will keep you in mind next time I go down that way as well. See if we can catch each other sometime.Renegade92 and Concorde Thank this. -
I don't deal with brokers, I'm a contract hauler for one company. I don't know what the company is charging their customers for me to haul the load. And I dont care. I know what I'm being paid and I'm happy with it. I don't care if they charge 10 million. I'm happy with what I get
Renegade92, Concorde and Siinman Thank this.
