In 2022 is .48cpm for a new driver with no experience and pay raises every 30 days a good starting point?

I get 25% of the load and this week was horrible. I averaged about .85 cpm and only made $1250 for the week. I do reefer so there is alot of hurry up and wating. CPM is only part of the equation.
If you get the miles and don't mind working nonstop then yeah you could probably pay your bills with that.

    Coffey Thanks this.

That's a very good starting point. It was only a couple of years or so ago, experienced drivers was making that.

What’s their structure for the raises every 30 days? If you’re still there 6 months from now what will you be making?

    Coffey and MOBee Thank this.

That is a good starting point for sure if you are doing long haul, especially away from the east coast.

It's standard for a new driver just starting. Pay raise every 30 days is exceptional. More importantly, if the equipment is well-maintained, if the company has freight to keep you moving, if you are given enough leash to mess up yet learn from it, then you are at a very good place. Don't consider leaving, even when a week seems slow and things look less than desirable.

With the way companies are paying to go east coast, I don't see why anyone would complain about it. I smile when I get a load to the east coast. I just delivered in Burlington, NJ. I had a reload in Newark, but a fire at the business next door to the place where I am to pick up prevented me from getting loaded earlier today. Already had 10 hours off duty, so I told DM to just keep me on the load and I will get a 34 out of it. I had been running on recaps, so it was a win-win. So, I get the east coast extra pay, layover pay for doing a reset on the road, and then mileage to go with it. Yeah, send me to the east coast all you want.

Your at a decent company. Some guys run the east coast and end up making much less than running west. Good for you! Nice to hear some positive news.

KLLM is a solid company. Plenty of people complain that it is just another mega. I think the complaints are because making money requires sacrifice and they don't want to make the sacrifices.
