I'm 10 hours away from resetting clock and a DM call me about doing a power load. Is it picking up a load and finishing it?
What is a power load?

Better call and ask; it may mean picking up a loaded trailer that belongs to another company.
In other words, "power only" load.Tb0n3 Thanks this. -
A repower is exactly that. Your company might just call it a power. It’s a way to keep the load moving or to get a driver home. You sit and wait for the other dude and it’s unpaid waiting. And it’s not like he’s gonna say “thank you” either. Oh well
stwik, JonJon78, truckdriver31 and 2 others Thank this. -
I asked how much I'm getting paid and still no response. He said I was picking up a load delivering it in the same area. So im.not moving until I get a response to that over the Qualcomm.

Some companies do that to a solo driver; give him a nice long run, then send him a message to meet a team somewhere and give the load to them.
-
So if you worked for my last company that means you’re going to do a bunch of work for free or maybe mileage pay on 10-20 miles after half a day.
-
Yeah I'm not moving until he tells me what I'm getting paid to break my 34 to finish delivering a load.

In my experience dispatchers and driver managers don’t understand the purpose of a 34 reset. They think you’re just relaxing and taking a break. So that’s not a priority to them.
I’ve always gotten my way by bringing safety into the equation. They cannot argue safety. Example..If you took cold medication today you could say you don’t feel safe driving for 10 more hours.

Tell them that you are on your re-set and that you are 10 away from it.......that it would be a goid idea to have another driver to help with the re- powerIluvCATS Thanks this.

Tell them that youve already invested 24 hrs into it and you are just trying to be time-wise......
